In all my years of playing in the NFL and coaching there after, I have met very few men who have the courage and confidence that Aaron Golub possesses. When Aaron first came to train with me to prepare for his NFL Pro Day, my first impression was: ‘Here’s a very athletic football player who possesses a strong work ethic, has mastered his skill, and operates through his training in a normal fashion.’ When he shared with me his legally blind status, and then allowed me to wear his goggles that replicate the very limited, blurred vision he has, I was shocked, and thoroughly impressed at all he has accomplished and continues to accomplish with a substantial vision challenge. I know whatever Aaron sets his mind on, he will accomplish! He has already and will continue to beat the odds.

It is so difficult to navigate life, whether personal or business, when on the exterior you 'look' fine, but on the inside, it is a totally different story. It was a pleasure to meet you at my high school yesterday. I thought your presentation was very insightful and reflective. You are an everyday hero. In spite of your challenges, your drive and grit got you to achieve your dreams and desired goals. Hopefully, a few of our kids can internalize that message and achieve their own dreams.
Aaron Golub’s presentations at Three Rivers School and Channahon Junior High were truly exceptional. His story of perseverance and resilience resonated with our 5th-8th grade students, inspiring them to reflect on their own challenges and goals. We were so excited to welcome Aaron Golub, the first legally blind Division 1 athlete, to Carden Conejo School for a special assembly with our 1st through 5th grade students. From the moment he started speaking, the kids were completely engaged by his story and the powerful message he shared.
Beyond his inspiring talk, Aaron was a total professional and a pleasure to work with. He showed up on time, was super easygoing, and made the whole planning process smooth and stress-free. He always got back to us quickly and made sure we were aligned on all the details ahead of time.
What really stood out was how well Aaron connected with the students. He spoke to them in a way that was honest, relatable, and truly inspiring. He shared the challenges he faced growing up blind and what it took to become an athlete at the Division 1 level. His story touched on resilience, mental strength, and determination, but also emphasized the importance of empathy, teamwork, and lifting each other up.
Throughout the assembly, the students were totally hooked. They asked thoughtful questions, and Aaron responded with so much patience, humor, and insight. He helped them better understand how he manages daily life, what it’s like being part of a team, and how he pushed through obstacles to chase his goals.
It was clear that Aaron made a real impact. His energy and openness created a space where kids felt comfortable asking questions and sharing their own thoughts. They walked away feeling inspired and more confident in their ability to tackle their own challenges—just like Aaron has.
